What is Multi Vehicle Excess Protection?
The Important Bits
What is Multi Vehicle Excess Protection?

When getting quotes for your Car Insurance, choosing a higher voluntary excess will help to bring down the cost of your car insurance premiums because the insurer won't have to pay out so much in the event of a claim. On the flipside, this means that you'll be the one coughing up the extra cost if you have to make a claim.

Multi Vehicle Excess protection insurance will cover up to 3 vehicles at the same home address owned by the home owner or a family member. It  works alongside your normal car insurance policies and will cover the cost of your excess if you have to make a claim, up to a pre-agreed limit. Multi Vehicle Excess Protection can be particularly useful for young drivers, as increasing the excess can bring the premiums down by hundreds of pounds.

With our £250 Excess Protection Insurance policy, you can reclaim up to £250 in the event that you make a claim on your motor insurance policy and have to pay your excess. The cost is only £40 for the year.

You can choose the claim limit to suit you. For example a policy with a limit of £1000 could allow one claim of £1000, or four claims of £250, you decide.

We offer the limits of £250, £500, £750 & £1000.

A Word of Warning

You must be aware that increasing the excess too much could cause you issues with small claims. For example, if you increase your excess to £3000 and then you have a small bump, let's say it costs £1000. In this instance, you can't claim on your motor policy because it's less than £3000 and this means you can't claim your excess back from your excess protection policy. This means that you would have to stand the cost of the claim.

We also offer Single Vehicle Excess Protect.

  • Eligibility

Any user of the vehicle must be covered by motor insurance which is in force throughout the duration of the motor excess policy.

All claims must be reported to us as soon as reasonably possible, and in any case no later than 30 days after the date the excess is paid under the motor insurance policy.
