The insurer will arrange an emergency repair to make the property safe and/or prevent further damage in the event of damage or failure to the roof.

Please note that the repair won't necessarily be permanent, it may be a temporary repair in order to stop any further damage. This could involve tarpaulin or sealant.

Sometimes there will be instances where the contractor feels it is not safe to get onto the roof using ladders, as per work at height regulations. This causes an issue in respect to not being able to carry our the repair within the claim limits of the policy, due to scaffold being required. In these instances it can result in not being able to repair the roof.
